Piatt County Nursing Home Departments

Nursing – The nursing staff provides 24-hour care, under the direction of a physician. This care is carefully planned and continually evaluated, using input from residents and their loved ones. Residents can maintain their highest level of functioning with Piatt County Nursing Home’s restorative nursing programs.

The Halcyon Special Care Unit, for residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders, supports and enhances the individuality, dignity and self-esteem in a warm, accepting environment that allows sheltered freedom. Specially trained staff strive to provide a relaxed environment which emphasizes simplicity, safety, reduced distraction and an appropriate level of structure that meets the resident’s needs.

Therapy Services – Therapy services include physical, occupational and speech therapy provided by qualified professionals. They offer treatment, training and rehabilitation programs for residents.

Dietary – Staff make every effort to provide a pleasurable dining experience that offers choice and respects individual preference. Residents are encouraged to value the benefits of good nutrition toward their overall well-being. Families can make arrangements to dine with their loved one.

Activities – Programs provide therapeutic recreation, social and intellectual stimulation for all residents. Programs are offered daily.

Social Services – Staff serve as a liaison between the resident, family and Nursing Home. They provide counseling, coordinate family support services, a volunteer program and caregiver’s support group.

Maintenance / Housekeeping – Staff help provide a safe, clean home-like environment for residents to enjoy.

Administration – Staff coordinate and manage admissions, resident billing and human resources. Business office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
